The Skagit Valley Food Co-op's 4% Friday Community Shopping Day is an easy way you can help give back to our community! On Friday, October 27th, 4% of their sales will go to the Friendship House!
What Does Friendship House Plan To Use Its 4% Friday Funds For?
The funds will support their daily hot meal program and community kitchen, which serves three meals a day, 365 days a year. Friendship House served over 68,000 meals in 2015! Which is pretty spectacular, if you ask us!
What Is The Friendship House?
Based in Mount Vernon The Friendship House is the only no-cost daily meal service in Skagit County, providing a critical service to our community. The mission of this non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization is to provide food, shelter, clothing, and support to empower those in need.
They offer emergency shelter, transitional housing, daily hot meal service, job training, showers, toiletries, clothing, and referrals to additional community services and agencies. Having donated to them several times, we have a special place in our hearts for the Friendship House.
Mark your calendar and go shopping at the Skagit Valley Food Co-op on Friday, October 27th, when 4% of their sales go to the Friendship House.
